Do you ever find yourself feeling stuck? You might feel stuck in your job, relationship, career or even location. Or maybe those parts of your life are fulfilling, but something still seems to be missing and you can’t quite put your finger on it. Sometimes your spirit, your life or your routine just needs a jump-start. But how do you figure out what you need?

That can be the tricky part. It requires some introspection and exploration. Go to your favorite spot, be it a comfy living room chair or park bench. Bring a paper and pen with you. Then just begin writing whatever comes into your head. Don’t censor yourself; no one else will read this but you. Write anything - don’t judge, don’t correct, don’t worry about being perfect. You may be surprised at what comes out of your pen!

The longer you go, the more opportunity you have to get beyond your everyday thoughts to the deeper issues. Maybe you sit at a desk every day and realize you want to play racquetball. Maybe you’re a stay-at-home mom who misses spending time with her friends. Maybe you’ve just been working overtime and need a weekend getaway. You may discover deeper issues too - instead of being in sales you’d rather help the homeless. Regardless of what you discover, taking the time to tune into your inner voice can really help change your life.

If you try this exercise and find you struggle with it, give our Master Psychics a call. We’d be happy to help you figure out what your inner spirit is trying to tell you.

Many folks believe that meditation is only beneficial for the very spiritually inclined. But actually, basic meditation can be powerful no matter whether you do it every day, every week or just every once in a while. Will you experience a deeper level of inner peace and calm the more often you practice meditation? Probably, but if you only need to draw on a meditative practice once in awhile, you’ll still reap the benefits.

Meditation has shown to decrease stress, disperse depression and build brain function. The benefits all begin with the breath. Sitting quietly without disturbance can be hard to achieve in our busy worlds. But if you can create this space, you’re halfway there. Once you’re able to sit comfortably and quietly, then you can focus on your breath. Simply breathe normally and deeply, thinking “inhale” and “exhale” respectively. As you regulate your breath, your anxiety level tends to automatically decrease as well.

Decreased anxiety helps to regulate your emotional state and allows you to stay focused. So try some quiet breathing before a big presentation, a first date or even going to sleep. You’ll probably find there’s a great deal of inner peace below all that daily stress. And if you need help, give us a call. We’d be happy to guide you in your mediation practice, no matter how often you do it.

How we spend our time has a great affect on our mental, physical and spiritual health. If we choose to work all the time, even if it is work we enjoy, that constant drive can take its toll. Family responsibilities, errands and chores can add to that stress. Taking up a hobby is a great way to make sure you get time for yourself. As you focus on your favorite activity, you’ll feel your work and everyday stress melt away and a lightness come into your soul. Then, when you do return to your job or family, you’ll feel refreshed and focused.

So what hobby is right for you? That’s the beauty of choosing a hobby; you get to explore what you enjoy the most. Think about what you liked as a child and see if that still holds true. Did you play sports? Join a gym or find a racquetball court. Did you love art? Buy some art supplies and set aside time once a week to color, draw, paint or sculpt. Maybe a friend gave you a knitted scarf recently and you thought you could knit too. You can even explore hobby websites to see what inspires you. The point is to pick something that excites you enough to say, “I’ve always wanted to try that!” Then you’ll be sure to make time during the week for you and your hobby.

It can be hard to make the shift to create time for yourself. If you have a problem putting yourself first, you can talk to one of our Master Psychics for a little guidance.

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we sometimes forget how important our home spaces are. Home can be a sacred space, but too often it’s put on the back burner of life. For some, our home space ends up just being a place to eat, sleep and watch TV before another day. But your home should be your refuge. It can express and reflect who you are, what you like and what is important to you. We can’t always afford our dream home right away, so here are a few ways to create the space that will nurture you spiritually.

First, meditate on your dream home. Where is it located? What does it look like? What colors do you see? Once you have a clear picture of your dream home, you can then spruce up your current home to give a feel of that special place. Put up framed pictures of your ideal spot. If you want to be in the mountains but live in the city, hang some posters of snowy mountaintops on your walls. If you see a red house in your mind’s eye, paint a room red. If you can’t do that, paint a shelf red. Find some fun knick-knacks to put around the space that will remind you of the place you’d love to reside in. Be as creative as you want. It’s your space. Finally, remember to keep your home clean. Physical clutter can clutter your mind, so remove any unwanted energy and make room for peace.

If you’re struggling with visualizing your dream home, give us a call. We’re always here for you.

Designated as a World Heritage Site, Emei Shan is the highest of four Buddhist sacred mountains of China. The name translates to “Delicate Eyebrow Mountain” and reflects the shape of the two majestic peaks that face each other.

Buddhists are known for their quiet reflection and reverence of nature and Emei Shan certainly evokes these feelings in Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike. From natural wonders like breathtaking mountain slopes and vibrant wildlife to the man-made beauty of over 30 Buddhist temples, Emei Shan will surely touch the spiritual place deep inside any visitor. Many travelers pick this sacred location to experience The Four Wonders of Mt. Emei - the Buddha’s Halo, the Sea Of Clouds, the Holy Lamp and the Golden Summit Sunrise - all natural occurrences on the mountaintop. The temple structures were created and built to adapt to the natural beauty of the holy mountain rather than just sit upon it.

Personal journeys can be of the body, the mind, the spirit and even all three. A full day’s hike to the summit is a physical journey that parallels the emotional and spiritual journey a traveler feels as they make the commitment to visit this sacred place.

No matter where you are your own personal journey is deep inside of yourself. If you have any questions or would like some insights or understanding, please give us a call and we’ll help you get started from your own home.

Chances are you’ve been asked at least once, “What’s your sign?” Chances are also high that you know your sign. But do you really know the roots of astrology? Many people believe that the alignment of the stars and planets at a person’s birth reflect certain information about that individual’s personality. But what specifically does an astrologist do?

When seeking insight into a client’s temperament and character, astrologists might consult specific charts that show the position of celestial beings at the time of a person’s birth. A person’s astrological sign might be determined by the singular position of the sun when that person was born. The apparent “path” of the sun in the sky (as we all know, the earth rotates around the sun, but the sun appears to move) is divided into 12 sections and this is where the zodiac signs come from. So if the sun is “in Leo” when you are born, then you are determined by some astrologists to be a Leo.

This is just a basic idea about Astrology; the encompassing theories are fairly complicated. If you have an interest in learning more about your astrological sign, please feel free to speak to one of our Master Psychics.

Have you ever found yourself feeling increasingly more frustrated while talking with someone as if you’re speaking two different languages? There are many parts to communicating clearly, but two essential ones I’d like to focus on here. Listening and expressing.

It is important to show someone you’re really listening to what they have to say. It can help to use “active listening” techniques. After the other person makes a statement, repeat or paraphrase what you’ve heard. This not only helps you to truly hear them, it makes the other person feel that you’re trying (and effectively do) understand them. Even if it’s a heated argument, you’ll probably find that the other party is relieved to see that you’ve listened.

The other side of communication - expressing yourself clearly - should start from a place of calmness; you’re more likely to choose words that are clear, strong and inoffensive from this place. Avoid name-calling and judgmental statements like (”that’s ridiculous!”) These only hurt and incense people further. So take a few breaths before speaking. This will clear your mind. Then instead of pointing fingers, tell them your point of view. Chances are that if you’ve already actively listened to them, they’ll instinctively learn how to do the same with you.

If you’re having trouble communicating with someone in your life and could use some guidance, please give us a call. We’re always here for you.
